I have learned that you have not complied with the required demands of article I of the law from the 2nd June 1941 prescribing the census of Jews that live in France since before the 31st of July.
You cannot get out of this strict obligation without proof that you do not fall into the definition given by the law from the 2nd June 1941, as follows:
1st – that you have three grandparents that follow another religion other than the Jewish religion.
2nd – and if you have two Jewish grandparents, that you followed from before the 25th June 1940 another religion other than the Jewish religion, and if you are married, that your spouse is not Jewish.
You should send me these proofs before the: 2 Nov(?). 1941
After this date, if you have not furnished these proofs sufficiently, I will take immediate measures for your interment in a special camp conforming to article 2 of the law from the 2nd June 1941, independently of the punishment of imprisonment and fines that will be given by the Tribual following the legal proceedings of Mr. the Procureur of the Republic.
